Job description

The role requires executing tasks related to logistics and transportation planning.

About this profession: Traffic planners develop and implement policies in order to improve transport systems, taking into account the social, environmental and economic factors. They collect and analyse traffic data using statistical modelling tools.

Typical duties of this profession:

• Study the traffic requirements; collect, classify and analyze the traffic data, in addition to the future predictions of traffic volume.

• Prepare the designs and plans related to traffic regulation, lists of quantities and specifications.

• Define and follow up the provision of project supplies including materials, equipment and personnel; and supervise the execution of traffic works, as per plans and specifications.

• Develop the work methods and procedures; and keep up with the technical developments.

• Prepare, present, clarify, and keep on the relevant database, the specialized documents and reports related to engineering projects and works, as well as their progress ratio, as per the adopted policies and procedures.
