STRUCURAL STEEL DESIGN ENGINEER

Job description

The Structural Steel Design Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and verification of structural steel systems and associated components. The role involves preparing and reviewing structural calculations, design reports, technical documentation, and structural drawings while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, and approved design criteria. Key responsibilities include performing structural analysis and design of structural steel structures and associated elements, preparing and reviewing structural calculations, design reports, and technical documentation, designing and verifying steel members, connections, bracing systems, platforms, stairs, and other structural steel components, preparing and reviewing structural steel drawings, design details, and construction documents, coordinating with architectural, structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to ensure design compatibility, reviewing steel shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, and other design-related documents, ensuring compliance with applicable international codes, project specifications, and approved design criteria, providing technical support during construction and resolving structural steel design-related issues, identifying design conflicts and proposing practical engineering solutions, participating in technical meetings and coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of all structural design deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• 10-12 years of relevant experience in structural steel design and engineering
• Strong knowledge of structural steel design principles, analysis, and connection design
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or building projects
• Familiarity with international structural design codes, such as AISC, Eurocode, and relevant project-specific standards
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla Structural Designer, and IDEA StatiCa
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and technical specifications
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and structural detailing
• Strong understanding of steel connections, fabrication requirements, and construction methodologies
• Experience in structural steel design for complex buildings and industrial structures
• Experience in reviewing fabrication and erection drawings
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Previous experience working with international engineering consultants or major construction projects.
