Airport Design Manager

Job description

Leads and manages all design activities for the airport project under the Project Management Consultant. Ensures designs are coordinated, compliant, and delivered on time, aligning with project objectives, budget, and international standards. Oversees the overall design process across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and special airport systems. Develops design management plans, schedules, and tracks deliverables. Coordinates with design consultants for timely submission and approval of documents. Reviews and validates design deliverables for compliance with requirements, codes, and standards. Ensures proper integration of multidisciplinary components. Identifies design risks, clashes, and resolves them promptly. Manages design changes with proper documentation and approvals. Liaises with clients, authorities, operators, and contractors for design approvals. Supports value engineering to optimize efficiency, cost, and constructability. Leads coordination meetings and provides technical direction. Complies with the employer’s quality, environmental, safety, and health policies. Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Director or line manager. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (Master’s preferred) and at least 15 years of relevant airport/aviation experience, including space utilization, concept design, IBC, Saudi Codes, GACA 139, NFPA, and IATA ADRM. Conducts site inventories, manages stakeholders, creates artistic designs, prepares construction drawings and take‑offs, and executes projects from concept to completion
