About the Role the employer is looking for a Project Engineering Manager. This role requires full time experience and focuses on ensuring project engineering activities are completed within stipulated time frames, adhering to quality and cost standards. The Project Engineering Manager will ensure compliance with the L2 schedule during project execution and will work on improvements, alternative proposals and solutions to achieve rapid delivery of the project with a positive margin. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to align deliverables with the project schedule. Hold regular project review meetings to ensure adherence to schedule. Lead internal audit meetings to optimize and allocate resources and enhance productivity. Review designs, calculations and drawings, and ensure timely submission after customer approval. Clarify issues with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials at the project site. Provide clarification to multi-disciplinary managers regarding aspects of equipment design. Enable and review accurate quantity estimation for BOM submission. Review critical issues and procedural delays related to equipment design and support site implementation teams. Ensure BIM implementation in projects. Reconcile purchasing issues and support supply chain management to finalize engineering order for vendor. Support BOQ, review pre-bid and technical proposals, and provide post-bid clarifications to the contracts team. Lead and manage a team of design leaders, design engineers and design illustrators. Review vendor evaluation against customer technical specification requirements. Support site implementation teams for commercial issues and invoice processing. Issue guarantee Manufacturing permit by facilitating the necessary communications with suppliers. Communicate and clarify the list of deliverables from the client and obtain resource requirements for the project. Technical Expertise The Project Engineering Manager must possess comprehensive experience in both primary and secondary engineering of substation projects. A comprehensive understanding of the design aspects of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 kV is required, along with proficiency in selecting equipment such as power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, connecting parts and instrument transformers. The role requires familiarity with primary and secondary design of substations, including grounding, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, interfaces between civil, mechanical, wiring diagrams, SCADA and control system. The Manager must understand leading and executing projects for various geographies, customers and facilities, and have detailed knowledge of the equipment to be installed and market vendor engineering terms. Ability to interpret contractual technical requirements and support project teams is essential. Operating Network This role involves extensive collaboration internally and externally. Internally, the Project Engineering Manager will interact with the Head of Engineering, cross-discipline heads, project execution team, supply chain management team, quality team, and contracts team. Externally, interactions will include customers (engineering team), customers (project management team), and vendors (engineering and quality team).
