Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

Job description

the employer is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own product quality across the platform. The role ensures every release meets quality standards and makes go/no-go decisions based on risk and test results. You will define the most suitable QA approach for the product and teams, including testing strategy, tools, standards, and workflows, adapting the depth, type, and process of testing to each situation—urgent hotfix, major feature launch, or high‑risk change. This hands‑on role covers both manual and automated testing and works closely with engineering, product, and DevOps to review requirements, define test strategies, perform manual and exploratory testing, and build reliable automation using Playwright. Beyond defect identification, you will analyze root causes and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA experience with real ownership of releases and quality decisions
• strong experience in both manual and automated testing with judgment to balance the two
• solid JavaScript and TypeScript skills to write clean Playwright automation and read application code confidently
• hands‑on experience with Playwright or a similar framework and willingness to deepen Playwright expertise
• strong command of Git and GitHub including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and CI pipeline work
• deep understanding of testing types, techniques, and test design with ability to choose the right one
• flexibility to adjust approach to different situations while maintaining high quality standards
• experience testing web, mobile, and APIs
• comfort with browser DevTools for debugging and investigation
• practical experience using AI tools with critical thinking to know when to trust them
• preventive mindset with examples of fixing problems at the root.
