Inspector - Structural

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Inspector to join our team. The role involves conducting thorough inspections, evaluating structural integrity, and preparing detailed reports on project and infrastructure conditions. Responsibilities include inspecting road and highway structures such as bridges, flyovers, underpasses, tunnels, retaining walls, abutments, culverts and drainage installations, verifying construction compliance with approved IFC drawings, specifications and method statements, performing visual inspections, dimensional checks and non‑destructive testing, monitoring concrete works, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, ASCE, FHWA, ASTM and UAE authority standards, recording inspection data and observations, preparing inspection and progress reports, coordinating daily activities with contractors, consultants and project managers, assisting engineers with shop drawing reviews and work inspection requests, providing technical guidance to junior staff, attending site meetings with clients and regulators, and supporting audits and quality reviews to align inspections with schedules and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization preferred)
• Master’s Degree is an advantage
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification preferred
• 7+ years proven experience in structural inspection, preferably on road and highway projects, bridges and major infrastructure works
• experience in consultant supervision roles highly desirable
• strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and materials
• knowledge of road and highway construction methods
• knowledge of quality assurance and inspection procedures
• proficient in inspection tools, testing equipment and reporting software.
