Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Job description

Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in designing substations, transmission and distribution systems for oil & gas, hydrocarbon and infrastructure sectors. Leads a team of 10 to 20 electrical engineers and designers. Develops discipline work plans. Performs and reviews electrical system studies (e.g., ETAP). Prepares work-hour estimates. Determines electrical equipment sizes and specifications. Conducts power system analyses. Provides technical leadership and guidance to the project team and clients. Ensures design integrity, on‑schedule delivery and budget compliance. Leads technical presentations to clients and their representatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• minimum 15 years experience in oil & gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore and infrastructure industries
• expert knowledge of design and construction practices and procedures
• extensive knowledge of codes and standards such as IEEE, NFPA, API, IEC, ANSI/NEMA
• broad knowledge of electrical power systems, protection philosophy and protection device coordination
• knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and procedures is an added advantage
